Schlafly Brewery Tour, Part 2

Before I go on, you may ask, "Justin, you idiot! There is no 'Schlafly Brewery Tour, Part 1'!" I would say "Fred, you are the idiot! We took the Schlafly Brewery Tour in March." Yesterday, I went with my brother-in-law and his friend from Milwaukee to the Schlafly Brewery Tour. Since March, OSHA found out that they give tours on there brewery floor. They flipped and now you have to have safety glasses at the tour and you cannot wear open-toed shoes. I had sandals so I was kicked out of the group. However, they gave me FREE beer while I was waiting for 30 minutes! Not only was it free, it was the delicious, delicious pumpkin ale (which contains 8%+ alcohol). And when the tour was over, I got to enjoy in the free samples with the tour group. Best tour ever.

Anyway, Schlafly's, as most of you know, is fan-"freakin"-tastic, and I highly recommend the pumpkin ale during the fall. It is one of their autumn seasonals, along with the Saison Ale, which was good too, and the Oktoberfest, which is OK.

Finally, the Schlafly Bottleworks has great food. Much of it is from Missouri and healthy. Whenever you come to visit, Schlafly's on me!

A Magician Named G.O.B.

This is for those Arrested Development fans. With my limited TV channels, I was watching Sesame Street yesterday and Will Arnett, a.k.a. G.O.B., guest starred. Just like Arrested Development, he was a horrible magician and all of the muppets were able to figure out his tricks...or illusions! However, I learned addition and subtraction. His character's named was Max the Magician instead of G.O.B. But the personality was the same.

This little appearance of G.O.B. will hopefully tide you over until the Arrested Development movie. I have to fall back on the Arrested Development DVDs.

DTV Tuner

Last night, I finally bought a DTV Tuner. It is a Zenith DT901 with an analog pass through feature, which supposedly makes it better. All I know that after hooking it up last night, I wonder what took me so long. I now get 12 channels instead of 5. Now I finally receive ABC. I missed too many mediocre shows over the past year. The whole line up now is:

2-1 Fox
4-1 CBS
5-1 NBC
5-2 NBC Weather Plus
9-1 PBS
9-2 PBS for Kids
9-3 PBS Alternate
9-4 PBS Create
11-1 CW
11-2 No signal - I don't know why but it picks it up
24-1 E/I
30-1 ABC
46-1 My TV

The picture is much better, but on my 25 inch TV, the letterbox makes the picture smaller. This is really the only draw back. The picture is 420i, which is much better than the fuzzy, snowy picture I got before.

The comment sections for various DTV Tuners on the consumer websites have not been very positive. However, the one exception, the Zenith DT901 is pretty good and I recommend it. You can find it at Circuit City.

Rams Suck

I watched the first drive or so last night of the Rams game. Their offense is awful. I did not see the defense. It is going to be a long, long season for the Rams unless they get Stephen Jackson back. Even if he comes back, they need O-Line help desperately. Also, the word is that Chris Long is having difficulty learning the Rams defensive playbook and struggling on the field. I like Long in the long-term, but this team needs a new O-Line more than the Chiefs (slightly more).

Step-Brothers

Yesterday, I went to see Step-Brothers. It was fan-freakin-tastic! It is best Will Ferrell movie since Anchorman. It is funny from the beginning to end (unlike popular Knocked Up and most other Judd Apatow movies where they are funny, slow and serious, then end). John C. Reilly kept up with Ferrell the whole way through and was arguably funnier than Ferrell.

I don't want to give anything away, so this will be short. If you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend it.

Someone Had To

No one else within our little blog-a-sphere has not tackled the Brett Farve issue yet, so I thought I would chime in. I can't stand this guy. He is a whiny egomaniac. Every year, the media descends upon him for two months until he decides to come back and play. He can't just make a decision and loves the attention.

And he sucks. Last year was a fluke. The previous three years he was Five INT per game Farve (he legally had his name changed). This year, he is going to single handedly lose at least four games for whatever team he plays for.

How about Aaron Rodgers though? I think he is the sacrificial lamb for the Green Bay fans, but he has handled what has to be a horrible situation for him with class. I hope he shuts up all of the Farve apologists and has a great season...but I will not draft him for my fantasy teams.
